A denture is a removable appliance for the replacement of missing teeth and adjacent tissues. Modern day dentures can look very realistic and natural and feel comfortable.
Conventional dentures are removable, however there are many different denture designs, some which rely on bonding or clipping onto teeth or dental implants.
Conversely, complete dentures or full dentures are worn by patients who are missing all their teeth in an arch.
Complete dentures can also be supported by implants if bone support is not adequate. This type of denture is referred to as an overdenture.
Removable partial dentures are for patients who are missing some of their teeth on a particular arch. Partial dentures usually contain a metal framework for support.
In case of combined dental work the dental lab creates crowns on the exist teeth and a partial denture for the missing teeth.
